Early Birthday Celebration!

My colleagues were so kind as they plan a
surprise birthday celebration for me. Even though my birthday is on Wednesday but as I will be on leave Tuesday and furthermore 1st Oct is Hari Raya, so i guess they have no choice but to celebrate my birthday earlier.
I was a bit shy when they sing the birthday song for me as there were many people around at the temptation (Temptation is a Cafe at Agilent factory) but I was truely happy :)
I managed to make a wish, a wish that i hope it will come true next year, i bet some of you know what is that wish, hehehe :)

本性难移。。。

Before we rent our house in Kulim to an Ixxxxn couple, many poeple advise us not to rent because they usually dont pay the rental regularly. Well, after discussing with JJ, we decided to take the risk as the house has been empty for years and it was so dirty. We was thinking worst come to worst, we just kick them out if they didnt pay.
So we start to rent the house to them at June. We were able to collect the rental on the second month but on the thrid month, she start to request some delay, only pay half of the rental, then finally want to pay at the month end only. Until the date she mention to pay us, she call again and request for further push out. Well, that's it, no more tolerence. I guess we have been too nice already. We ask her to move out in one weeks time since she is not able to pay the rental. At first she say okay, but then she call again to request for stay until after Deepavali and willing to pay for another month's rental...but i dont think we believe her anymore. Let see how...

Anyway, the moral of the story is, dont ever believe in Ixxxxn unless they are your friend or maybe they have a very good job :). I will treat this as a good learning and experience for me and JJ...

施比受更有福。。。Part II

After a week's time of collecting donation, I had successfully collected RM2600. If included JJ and my donation, it tops up to RM3000....fuyoh...Bravo!!!
I was so touched by the huge amount that has been successfully collected and felt so thankful to all my friends. This actually imply that many people around us are very kind and always wanted to help. One of my colleague even propose to visit my sister-in-law's mother to conduct a prayer session for her. Another colleague took the initiative to help me collecting the donation from her department's colleague. Some helps to forward my email to other friends...
No matter what you guys have done, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you who had helped in one way or another. You guys are wonderful people !!!

Survival of the fittest..

My husband got a plant from his mum recently. I don't know what is it name in English but in Chinese, it's call "Fu Gui Hua". Did you noticed that it has 4 flowers but has no leaf at all? Amazing isn't it? Only the strongest will survive, this is what was in my mind when i saw it.
Human being is also like that, the strongest will survive even though is under extremely difficult condition like poverty, sickness, disability and so on...Only the one who is positive thinking, motivated, hardworking and never give up will sucess.
Well, you might think that it is easy to say then do. Of course it is not easy but if we can consistently remind ourselves to live better day by day and never give up, I'm sure our dream will come true soon.

p/s: I wish all the critical illness patients will never give up and remember - The strongest one will survive....

Oil Price reduced 10 cents ONLY

Well, most of the people will say better than none but i was not satisfied lor...
i think 10 cent is really to small (The new price is 2.45/liter). When increase time, why can't they increase it bit by bit instead of a huge jump? But now when the crude oil price reduce so significantly, they just reduce the oil price sloooooowly, the percentage doesn't match at all...
Anyway, what we can do even though not happy? Nothing...talk more later got detained under ISA pula :(

Handmade key Chain

I always admire those who have talents in arts and
handicraft. That day i suddenly found out that one of my colleague does have this gift from God. She was making her own hand phone cover. Each and every stitches were carefully sew by her own hand, no machine is needed. She also make her own key chain holder as shown in the right. It's lovely, isn't it? I think this might be a sweet gift to ladies, so guys, pls take note of it, i guess your girl friend will be happy to receive it. :)

Everyone needs some space...

When a guy and a girl started their relationship, many things will change. Some of the couple might choose to stick together everyday but most of the couples i seen liked to have their own space and time with their friend and family. One party may think that in order to treat his partner well, he needs to devote all the times to her or vise versa. However some maynot think that way. When your partner mention to you that he or she would like to have his/her own time, pls let it be. It is normal that poeple need to have their own friends and activities sometimes even after they are attached. This doesn't mean that he/she dont care about you or didn't put you as top priority.
One might think that if I can spent all my time for my partner, why cant my partner? Well, you can always think that way but will you make the relationship happy then? So the best solution is - discuss between you 2 and make a win-win solution :)

Mind to share your thought?

Public Health Talk at Island Hospital

Yesterday me and JJ attended a seminar at Island Hospital. The speaker was Dr. Mah and his colleague. It was about making babies, the challenges and the some of the assited conception technique.
The session was quite good but you can notice that there is a lot of publicity and advertisement about their I-care center...Hehe, nowadays hospital also need to do promotion and lead generation activities. (Lead generation activities is the program to pull new customer base who are interested about your products and services and finally close the deal...)
Ok, bad to the interesting part..Dr. Mah advise couple should try about 1 year before they seek for consultant. For ladies that older then 35 years old, they should seek consultant as earlier as half a year after trying. There is no special diet or way where once can boost their fertility but just a normal rules of thumb to avoid alcohol, smoking and caffeine. He mention that there is no research showing different technique of sexual intercourse(SI) can increase the success rate and the law of gravity does hold. Meaning, it is better for guys to be on top of ladies. :)
Also, do make sure that your BMI is around 20-25 range (BMI = weight(kg)/height(m)*height(m) to increase the chances of conceive. The other very imporatant factor is the stress. The chances to get conceive is lower if the couple is under stress, just have SI about 2-3 times per months and you dont have to be so stringent about the ovaring day. (this is what the doctor say but i think it is kind of low :))
After a year of trying and if it is not successful, the couple should go for checkup. According to Dr.Mah, 10-15% couple have the fertility problem. For guys, they will check for you sperm count, quality and mortility. As for women, they will scan for your fallopio tiub for blockage and ovari condition. After finding the root cause, they will then advise you on the right treatment. Some of it is like IVF( test tiub baby), IUI, ICSI and so on..Well, all this treatment are not cheap of course...for example IVF needs min of 13K and the success rate is only 30% to 40% :(
Anyway, dont worry, relax, be happy and enjoy tyring! :)

施比受更有福。。。

I always have this thought of helping people and do charity because i felt happy doing so. However i used tothink that i can only help through joining some society. A friend of mine has inspired me that actually this is not true, if there is a wish there is a will.

Even though i did donated to the china earthquake, subsidized a child through World Vision but i just feel that i can do more. My friend told me that you don't have to look far to help, there is so many mis-fortune people around us that we can help. So i started to observe around and saw a news from the chinese newspaper. It mention that the jubilee old folks home need help as the economic went bad, they receive less donation and this has cause challenges to support their monthly expenses. I had succesfully raise fund few hundred to buy food for them.

And now, i got another mission that is to help my sister-in-law's mother. She was diagnosed of kidney failure and her monthly medical expenses is about RM1.5K. Her 2 sons are earning very less and thus it was a burden to her family. We need to raise fund for her. If you wish to help, you can pass your donation either to me or to the kwang hwa jit poh office directly.

What happen to Malaysia politic?

PM switch role with Deputy PM, like that also can ar??? Like main ma-masak meh!
http://www.kwongwah.com.my/news/2008/09/17/113.html

I guess most of the Malaysian recently are very conscious about our politic progress, especially after the claims by Anwar about the 916.
No body know if what he claims about 31 defactors is true, but i think he is definitely a good marketeer :)
He know what's the customers(Malaysian's) want and thus he use that for his election campaign. He position himself as the future PM and then make a lot of publicity of himself, such as through the sodomy case which can botained the sympathy from the customers...Then he create a themes for his battle- The 916, and make every Malaysian either looking forward to it or anxious about it.

That's why i say he is a good Marketeer :)

GL's Special Recipes

Today is not my gym's day, so i decided to cook for my hubby. It was my first time cooking the "mushroom chicken". I just got the rough idea on how i want it to be but i guess no harm trying. I prepared the chicken and mushroom by marinated it with pepper, light soy sauce and dark soy sauce. I also added some dried small prawn to mixed with the mushroom.
I started by putting in some small slices of gingers into the hot oils, cook until it turn to golden black color, then put in the marinated mushrooms and cook for a while. After that, put in the marinated chicken as well as pour in a cup of water. (don't ask me how much water to pour in, just use your instinct...come on, cooking is an art :))
Let it boiled for about 5 min then put in the cabbage. ( i dunno why i use cabbage but i just like it and also i want to make the dish more healthy)
After that u can just leave the whole thing for about 10 min in a low heat until you confirm that the chicken was fully cooked. The dish looks like below and it taste terrific....at least my hubby and I think so :)

中秋节快乐。。Happy mid-autumn festival!

The moon is exceptionally round and bright tonight.
No sure if this is its usual look on the 15th days of the month, because i seldom notice it :) but since it is 8月15, so i am sure it is the most beautiful moon tonight.
While me and my mum were admiring the moon, suddenly we saw fireworks being shot to the sky just in front of my mum's house. I was so excited and ask JJ quickly bring me my hp. Luckily I managed to capture this photo on the right, even thought it is not so clear (what to expect, HP camera mah...) but you could imagine how beautiful it was as the moon is just behind the fireworks. :)

Attending another wedding dinner

Tonight i attend another wedding dinner. It's my cousin that getting married. We went all the way down to Kuala Kurau to attend her wedding dinner, it tooks us about more than 1 hour journey.
It has been quite some times since my last visit to their house. Thus, I can remember some of the familiar faces. The cute little boy (her brother) that came to my house last time has become a handsome man now, but the one thing that havent change is that he still as shy as last time :)
Some of my other cousin already has a few kids and some of them are in their age of 4 to 6 already...haha, i felt so old d :)
But it's okay, as long as i target to have my first baby before 35 years old, and i think i am on track :)

It was an enjoyable dinner

Yesterday was my ex-technician's wedding dinner. Due to that, I managed to meet up with most of the old friend in my previous department. It was great to have chance meeting and talking to old friend.
The focus of the night, except the bride and bridegroom, is ....ten ten ten...madam Teaw Ling Ling!!!
It was the first time i saw her wearing skirt and doing her make up :)....so gorgeous! See her photo below.

After a nice dinner, we move to QE2 for further chatting and drinking. Coincidentally, it was Siew Wing's brithday and jessie gave him a surprised birthday cake...opps..she forogt to gave him a surprised kiss as well, hehe :)....what a lovely couple. Happy Birthday, SW, wish all your dream come true! ...and i know one of your biggest dream is coming true soon this Nov, congratulation!!!

A rejuvenated vacation place...Malihom

Have you ever heard about Malihom in Balik Pulau Penang?
I was talking to a friend from balik pulau about this expensive resort at balik pulau and try to find out from him more info. Apparently he also don't know where is the place exactly located but he mention to me that they the resort only serve 17 customers per day...sound interesting, isn't it?
Driven by my curiosity, I decided to go online to do some research. This private estate was owned by one of the rich Malaysian- Yeap Chor Ee. It was meant for his family's vacation but now is it also open for public. They have got 9 different chalet and i bet each must have different view of Penang. One of the chalet is shown on the right. The rate is from RM5++ to RM7++ depending on the type of the room, a bit expensive isn't it? But remember, they only served 17 customers/day wor, so this rate should be reasonable.
There is many lockout bridge for you to admire the
fabulous view of Penang from different angles. (Even though i never been there before but i bet the view should be fantastic since the chalet is built on top of high mountain )
Well, if you interested to learn more, just go to below website. That's it from me for the free advertisement to Malihom :)

Why there is still so many Lorries on the bridge...

Inspite of the rules implemented to ban lorries and big transport to use the Penang bridge during peak hour, I still see so many lorries on the bridge during that peak hour :(
The initial few days after the implementation, I did noticed less slow moving vehicle using the bridge and police was there to control the traffic...But after a while, i guess those driver start to not follow the instruction.
Well, why bother to follow the rule, if there is no police to catch you and there is no any fine for those who disobey the rule, isn't it? Since the government enforced this rules, i never hear about what's the fine if those driver validated the rules.....
So, the conclusion is, this new rules doesn't really help to improve the traffic condition at Penang bridge :(

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Just for laugh :)
Why did the chicken cross the road?
BARACK OBAMA:The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!
JOHN MCCAIN:My friends, that chicken crossed the road because it recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.
HILLARY CLINTON:When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.......
GEORGE W. BUSH:We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.
BILL GATES:I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your check book. Internet Explorer is an integral part of the Chicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^(C% .......... reboot.
BILL CLINTON:I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?
AL GORE:Chicken shall not shit while crossing the road. This is for a green environment..
LEE KUAN YEW:We have installed crossing lights at all traffic junctions. All chickens should follow instructions while crossing the road.
SAMY VELLU:Gantry points have been set up. All chickens wanting to cross the road are advised to top up their cash cards first.
NAJIB RAZAK:What chickens? I don't know any chickens... especially those from Mongolia..
ABDULLAH BADAWI:We have to be fair to all chickens. Some want to cross over the road, some do not. ........ Zzzzzz .......zzzzzz ....... Now what were we talking about? Ah yes, chickens. We will form a Royal Commission to decide whether it is right for them to cross the road.\
MAHATHIR:Now even non-bumi chickens want to cross the road! How can they disrespect and disregard apa nama bumi chickens? We must be allowed to cross over first. It is our special privilege and no one can challenge that!ANWAR:We have enough chickens waiting to cross over in September.
LIM KIT SIANG:Kita semua sama-sama ayam (chicken) mah! Chi kens for Chickensia!
AHMAD ISMAIL:Semua ayam (chicken) adalah pendatang dan tak ada hak.

70th Birthday Party

Today we have our regular quaterly leadership meeting and a consultant came to conduct a workshop for us. One of the most interesting session i thought was the "70th birthday party"...It started by asking us to close our eye and relax ourselves. Then he started to ask us imagine it is our 70th birthday and we are having a party. "You look at yourself in the mirror, how you looks like?" You prepare yourself for the party, then the door open, your family, friends, ex-colleagues were here to celebrate your birthday. What you want your ex-colleague and friends to say about you? What you want your family to perceive you as? Who is not there at this happiest moment of you? Why do think they are not around??

What you want your frens, family to say about you in future, that is what you need to do now...For example, if you want others to think that you are a helpful and kind person, then you have to start helping others now. On the other hand, for those poeple that you think should be there at your party but didn't show up, think why they are not, is it because you have hurted their feeling before or is it beacuse they hate you?

We might have been too busy chasing our career, dreams, money and status until we have lost our value and identity. We might have forgotten what we want in life and probably neglected people that we love.

Once a while, we need to relax ourself and do some soul searching...come back to the basic and think about what you really want in your life. :)

Feel great doing charity...

It all started when someone forwarding the email about an article from Newspaper saying that the food storage for Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged is running low especially rice as the economy down-turn and it impacts the donation from the public.
CS was suggesting to contibute rice to them and i support that idea plus i decided to raise a small fund to increase the amount of food that we can contribute.

Thanks to all my colleagues' kindness, I have successfully collected RM490 and we use it to bought 2 packs of rice, 12 tins of biscuit, 4 packs of milk powder, 20 packs of oats, 10 packs of red and green beans each. Another 8 packs of rice was contributed by CS.

-> Me and CS shopping for the food in Tesco

After buying the food, we then passed it to the
Jubilee home on the following day. TL joined us too. As we were there, we talked to the person in charge and found out that actually many Agilent people had been here to contribute the food, it was so kind of Agilent poeple :)
The receipt of our contribution is on the right.

We also found out that there are about 200 old folks staying there and most of them are single and without family members. There is also many voluntary doctors came regularly to help the old folks here. The management also has a medical program with general hospital to help those stroke patient doing their physiotherapy and it is FOC.

I'm glad that I had done a noble thing to the society today and I wish more and more poeple will also join me in doing more charity works.
To know more about Jubilee Home, pls visit their webstie at: http://www.siljubilee.org/

Police is doing something....

From The Star......
GEORGE TOWN: Police are still waiting for Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail to give his statement over his allegedly seditious remarks last week.
State deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm (I) Datuk Salleh Mat Rasid said an investigating officer contacted the Umno leader early this week, asking him to turn up at the Bukit Mertajam district police headquarters on Tuesday.
"But he never turned up and the interview was rescheduled to today (Wednesday). Five reports have been lodged against him in George Town, Bukit Mertajam, Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya over the past week.
(Wah, I dint realised that this interview can be rescheduled one ler? I thought police should go and arrest him, like the case for Axxxx?)
"Once Ahmad gives his statement, we will wrap up our investigations by Friday as most of the statements have been taken. The file will then be sent to the Attorney-General in Putrajaya for further action," he told reporters at a press conference Tuesday morning.

Bowling Session!

Yesterday was holiday, so we went for bowling
with Intel's fren. I'm kind of impressive by CK's performance, from <100/games, he master the game very fast and turn to ~ 140 for the consecutive 2 games with many strike :) After the bowling we went for dinner and chatting at Kapitan Restaurant. We tried the usual Tandoori Naan set, yammy yammy...

We talked about some jokes at work and the most funny one is about how to expressing your feeling and complaints regarding jobs by writing in your own blog
without clearly mention about that person or the
issues...so how to do so?

CK has a great idea and it goes something like this :
Today I met a "DOG", it keeps barking and barking
even I had tried my best to explain to it on the issues...of course it doesn't understand lar because it is a dog mah....
Hahaha...such an interesting way to "express" your feeling, isn't it?

Warning : Above mention is for reference only. Pls be reminded that missused of it might caused serious disaster that you might have to bare its consequesnces.

My New Gadget

Finally i had choosen one Handphone that got the function i like - Nokia N81. The icon and user interface is nice and it comes with Wireless LAN, bluetooth and it meets my budget too. Although it is a gift from my honey but i dont want it to be too expensive though...and JJ also bought one for himself :)
But...the sales person double confirm with us saying that this hp has the GPS navigation system...but after we bought and tried at home, reading through the spec and searching in internet, it seem like GPS function is not built in with this hp. Felt like been cheated, will look for him again later...
