Day trip to taiping Zoo and Lake

Why going Taiping Zoo again? Many asked me this question when i told them I'm going to bring my daughter to the Zoo. Well, that's because she likes to watch the Barney Zoo and always seems to be interested in the elephant and Giraffe. Anyway, it turns out to be a very educational and fun experienced that we enjoyed it so much although it was damn hot and exhausted. Side track a bit,  I prepared the kimbap (korean sushi) for our trip and it was not bad for the first timer making it :)

When we reached at the zoo, it was already about 10am but surprisingly it was not many people maybe because it was the first day of Hari Raya and people are busy visiting each other? :) So we take the Zoo's tram and have a good one round quick look a the whole zoo area and know where is the elephant and giraffe located. After the fun tram, we set to see the elephant and then the giraffe. Don't know why my girl loves giraffe so much that she spent most of the time playing around at the giraffe and zebra area. There is one giraffe who likes people so much that everyone passed it will feed her with leaves, so do my girl.
One new thing I discover is that the zoo has got many baby kangaroo too which I didn't notice last time I came. Many it was just newly "Imported" from Australia :)

One thing I dislike about the Taiping Zoo was the tram that run in the same track as walking path, so we have to always watch out for the kids to avoid the tram and it's really disturbing....

Damai Laut Trip

Have been planning a trip with friend to Swiss Garden Golf Resort & Spa Damai Laut for quite sometime and finally the day has came. We start our relax jurney around 9am and stop by Ipoh town to have our favorite Tim Sum. It tooks about 2 hours driving from Ipoh. When we first arrvied, we were welcome by the cool breeze and peaceful seaview at the lobby. After check-in and freshen up ourself, we headed to the beach where the fun started. It's the first time Kai Shuen experiencing the sand plays with her newly bought beach playing tools. She and her buddy was really having lots of fun playing with the sand and we parents got to relax and enjoyed at the beach too. At around 6pm, we then move to the swimming pools and let the kids play the water. Kai Shuen was tall enough and she can walk inside the pool instead of floating. However on the second day when we brought her to the pool, she suddenly lean back on her float and put up her 2 legs and kicking and was able to move to the back, so we thought maybe it's time we let her tried out in the adult's pool. Just a few minute trying in the adult's pool, she was able to swim a bit to the front and very good is kicking the water and moved toward the back. We were so proud of her progress. I think she will growth up as a outdoor person :)

Not to forget to mention that the food we had for our 1st dinner at Blossom & Thai Taste Restaurant was awesome and the 2nd night buffet dinner (seafood barbecue) by the beach was also great, somemore there was a short Malay traditional performance dance. Overall it's a great vacation with my family and friend's family....should have more of this getaway...

Our first visit in Oregon

We had our first visit in Oregon to the Oregon Zoo. We take the train from the station near our house to the Zoo. It is very convenience because the train station is directly underneath the Zoo, so we just need to take the escalator up and walk to the Zoo entrance, plus taking the public transportation entitle you for a USD1.5 discount from the adult fees USD10.5. KS is under 2 years old so it is free :)
The Zoo is very big and well organised with big tress and many flower and plants. Visiting to the zoo in US is very different from visitng the zoo in Malaysia mainly due to the weather and humidity. Here you feel relax, comfortable because no sweat and not smelly too. Kai Shuen was really excited to see so many big animals like the bears, elephants, giraffes and polar bear. And her favorite among all is the penguins and ducks. That's because she enjoyed seeing them swing in the water. Believe me or not, she was playing at the penguin area for more than half an hours. We keep asking her to go to see other animals but she just dont want to leave the place. There is also an area whereby visitors are allowed to get closed to the animals by touching them. These animals are like rabbits, goats, chickens and so on, something that we can easily seen and find in Malaysia. :) Overall, it was a great and pleasant trip although we just spent about 3 hours inside the zoo.

3 more weeks

Kind of busy recently as there is only left 3 more weeks before we go to US. It was my dream to experience a different life style in US for a period of time with my family, although i had been to US when i was single for about 3 months times. This trip is going to be 6months and we will went thru summer, autumn and winter..first white Christmas for me! :)
Gotten very excited but in the same time was worrying about many stuff. Worry if my daughter will be noisy in the plane or not, worry if she will get use to the weather and people around or not. Worry if she went to day care and people dont understand her (cause she dont speak English), how would she reacted? Haha..I guess i just worry too much already. Maybe everything will be fine and she will like the new environment, as well as and learn to speak English fast?
Put aside those worrying stuff, I had actually started to plan out for our trip and activities when we are in Oregon. I hope I will be able to record down all the places we have been to and all the interesting activities we do in Oregon in a new travel blog..:)

Short vacations in KL

We spent 2 days one night in KL without the little one. It was awesome but at the same time we do missed her. Lots of good food and drink (my favorite Weißbier beer of course!). Also i get to know a shocking trends during the trip which seems to be a normal thing to some some of my friends and nephews. Guess I was really otudated. So what i found out was the special piercing style on the ear - called the stretched lobes piercing, which look like below. I felt that it was ugly, or maybe i just can't accept it.I wonder how painful it maybe to enlarge the ear lobes to such a huge whole where you thumb can actually go through it. And I start to think, what will happen to the trend after 15 more years when my daughter is a teenager? My goodness, will I have to learn these latest trend and accept it when my little girl come back with a "strange" piercing asking me if it is nice?

Playing at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort

Last Sunday me and my husband brought our daughter to visit the Bukit Merah Laketown Resort in Perak. The journey took about 45minute and we reached there around 10.15am. All the park operate from 10am onwards. We didn't go to the waterpark, instead we went to the Eco park and tried the skycycle. The skycycle is claim to be the first hand pedal monorail in Malaysia. The fees is RM6 and it travel through the tree canopy that allows riders to have a bird’s eye view of the surroundings and Pets Park. I was a bit scared when we first sit on it because it slanted a bit to the right-side. However after a while, the feeling is gone and we were able to enjoy the lake view and took some photos. Although there is not much animal to see (only rabbits, ducks and deer), it is a good experience for us. As for the Eco park, it cost us RM14 per person. Again, not much animal to see, mainly reptiles and birds. However the animal show was not bad. The trained parrot didn't let us down!
After taking some simple lunch, we continue to let kai shuen playing in the wooden platform near the lake. She enjoyed playing with the ball very much, especially enjoyed seeing her father running here and there picking up the ball for her :-) At around 2.30pm, we decided to go home. Kai Shuen fall asleep almost immediately after we put her on her car seat. What a happy and tiring day for her...It was a great trip and we have had so much joy playing together although the weather is hot and we sweat a lot (especially my hubby :))
Start the exploration with the skycyle

We get so close to the eagle
Cute Rabbit. Kai Shuen don't dare to touch it..

Rest and drink..while waiting for the animal show..

Trip to Taiping Zoo

As I mention in my previous post, i love to bring my daughter closer to the nature. Last weekend, we and another 2 friends of mine were going to Taiping Zoo with our family. I was so excited wanting to show her the animals that are inside the zoo but unfortunately she felt in sleep after about 15minutes of the walk and she slept for more than 1 hour. Haha...here goes my effort :-) She only manged to see the Chimpanze, some birds and elephant for the whole visit. Never mind, I shall bring her to the Taiping Zoo again when she is 2 years old. Taiping Zoo is one of notable zoo in Malaysia and it has been there for more than 30 years as I can remember. It is still well maintain but the ticket price has increased a lot. Now the entrance fees for adult is RM12.
We also visited the Taiping Lakes which is near to the zoo. This time, she has wake up from her sleep and was able to running here and there excitely.Me and her father were sweating beacause we run together with her as we afraid she will fall into the lake. Kids are always happy to be set free - walking, running and exploring all by themselve. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and I am glad that me, my family and our friends and their families enjoyed this trip that has been organized by me.

having a good sleep even it is hot

Penang day trip

After a week off from work, yesterday i drove to penang. Feel so relax because no jam and i am not rushing on time. I went to e.excel to buy some products first, then go to QBM.
I have an interesting feeling while doing a little shopping at QBM, the feeling of Guilty, yes, you get me right, is guilty!!! Haha..you know, that kind of feeling like ponteng school, or ponteng work...guess i forgot "that i am no longer working. But you can see that the long 10 years of working really has an in-depth influence on it. There is a saying of "old habit die hard", how true!
This led me to think of the importancy of childhood developments. How today we grow them up, it will be their habit and it's hard for them to change in the future.

I had side track so much, let's get back to the penang trip, ya, actually the main purpose i go penang was to attend a basic 2 hours seminar by wealth mastery accademy on FOrex trading. The 3days course + 3 months personal coaching = RM5999..hweh...it has gone up since my fren attended a similar class. Still thinking of whether to join or just do my shelf study??

Trip to Bukit Bendera

Bukit Bendera? Sound strange isn't it? What is up there to visit? Actually is really nothing lor, but since we don't want to go shopping every weekend, so we decided to do something different.
Since it was Sunday, quite a lot of people visiting bukit bendera, so the cable car was quite packed. I am a bit disappointed that no kind people to offer me her/his seat, so i have to stand in the cable car on both the up and down journey. Quite uncomfortable actually :(

Luckily the weather is not so hot up there, some times when the wind blown, it feel cozy. So happend there was a show during that the time we visited. It was the show of the King cobra and some other snake. It was very intersting though as the man can kiss the cobra many times as if it is so simple. After the show, audience can take photo with the snake. That person sure not me lar, i never have such courage to do this type of thing one, lizard already can drive me crazy, dont even talk about snake , hehehe :)

Actually there is really not much thing to see at the bukit bendera, but i just curious why they built a big mosque and now building a big indian temple there. During those religious festival day, the cable car sure cannot cope for the heavy traffic flow,so what for built such a big temple there??? Well, this world is like that, a lot of things cannot be explained in a logical way :)

Cherry Blossom at Penang??....

This year we are so lucky to see an interesting and pretty view at Bayan Lepas area near to Pantai Hostpital. It looks very similar to Cherry blossom in Japan but it wasn't Cherry tree.
Many poeple went there to take photo and some bring they children as well.

Today i pruposely bring JJ here to admire the nice view but we didnt bring our SLR camera, so I can only took some photo with my handphone camera. :) The weather is good, windy and cloudy but the problem is hard to find a good car park since the tree is planted along the busy road. It will be perfetc if the tree is growth in a park so that people can walk around enjoying the nice view :)

Japan Trip Sharing - Part 2

This post suppose to be published yesterday but it suddenly blackout while i am typing this blog, so it only be able to publish today.
So after a nice skiing experience, we went down to Osaka. We spent 2 days over there. The first day we were visitng Osaka castle. Quite nice environment there. See the photo.

After that we went to Osaka Aquarium. There is lots of fishes and other sea creatures. Those that still clear in my mind are the cute penguin marching, strange monkey-look creature that has 2 sharp crawl, the big flat fish. There is a big ferris wheel near it as well.

Talking about night life, i think Namba is the most happening and biggest shopping street i had ever seen. We having dinner there and we tried the famous Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake). It taste good but it somehow wasnt listed in my favorite food list :)

Last but not least, we had also been to the universal studio in osaka. Since this is the first time i went to universal studio (many people were curious why i never been there during my trip in US :)), i found it very existing also.Taking photo with the famous character like sherk, taking photo of those beautiful and nicely decorated building, watching the spideman 4-D movie, the backdraft which show how the hollywood film the fire and bombing scene...pretty new to me :)
To be continue....

Japan Trip Sharing - Part1

Thought of start writing my Japan story 2 days ago but was so busy and also not feeling well. Today I am on MC and had been sleeping the whole day until now only feeling better.

Ok, come back to the Japan trip sharing, it was really a great and tiring trip. The first day when we reach Japan, we straight away go to Yuzawa, the "snow country" for skiing. I was so lucky that on the first day there, it has started to snow. I had never seen snowing before, it was really astonished. Finally i was able to see snow :)
We took the hotel shutter bus to go down to town area. It was a small town and we just like to experience walking under snow. It was freezing cold and we really cant stand it, hehe.

This is the photo i took from my hotel room (we stay at a ski resort called Naspa Otani, very expensive, 2 days cost both of us RM2k++) Imaging you wake up in the morning and look out to the window and you could see such a pictures view....Ichiban neh...
The food there is also excellent. The package include buffet breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is so so only, not much choice but the dinner was really good. Nice Tempura with big prawn, fresh and thick sashimi, Big scallop, so tender roasted beef and melt in the mouth pork....really really good..just that the dessert is not good but the ice-cream is of course nice :)

The sky start to get dark as soon as 5pm, so we got nothing to do at night so i wear their Yukata (night dress) to took some nice photo and then go to their ONSEN (hot spring)...eh...of course need to be naked lor before you can go to the pool :) The first time when i go, i dont take the bath there, feel so shy and just deep inside the pool. However the 2nd time i go, i just try taking the bath there. It is a big strange cause you need to sit on a "bangku" then facing the big mirror to bath and there is people on your left, right and at the back. It is normally 2 raw of benches for people to take bath there. Another new experience for us :)

My 2nd dream come through on the next day - we are ready for skiing. After rented the full gear, we headed to the skiing area which we need to take gondola to go up to the hill. When we reached there, we were very excited but worry too because the slope is pretty steep and we had never skied before. We spent about 3 hour learning to control the pole and how to stop. We fall down dunno how many times but this is normal :) Finally we decide to walk down the slope and learn how to ski at the more flat area. After another few hours hard learning, we finally know how to ski a bit properly and learn how to stop and fall properly too, hahaha. When we were skiing, we felt so hot and i have to take out my scarf somemore and JJ was sweating, cant believe it! However around 3pm, it start to snowing again and with the wind blowing, it become very cold again and we decided to go back and come again the next day. We were so tired and i got bruises many place on my legs but it was fun. We went to ski again on the next day and this time we use the shorter ski and it is more easy to ski. We felt so satisfied at the end of the 2nd days of our skiing lessons because we finally manage to ski properly...so many first time within the 3 days in Japan...seeing the snow, trying the ONSEN, and sking....

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!

Wonder why i wish all of you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year so earlier? That is because i am going to Japan this Sunday, yeah!!!
The long awaiting time has finally come, my another dream is coming true soon. But I am a little bit worry because it was not snowing yet and a lot of resort is not able to open due to that reasons. I need to pray hard for the snowing, otherwise my objective of skiing will not be fulfilled :)
Anyway, i am really excited now and doing last minute preparation before depart.
See you all when i am back to blog on probably 5th Jan, bye for now!

Jalan-jalan Cari makan...one day trip

Since it was holiday and we have nothing much to do at home, me and JJ decided to go for a day trip to Ipoh cum Ayer Tawar. We started our journey around 8.30am heading to Ipoh for the famous 大树脚 (direct translation will be big tree leg) Yong Tau Fu. It was situated at Jalan prince. See the photo on the left. His home made fish fillet was excellent and other also good.
After that, we went to the original coffee shop of the white coffee at the old town. We used to drink the coffee at the Sun Yuan Fong, so this time we decided to go back to the same kopitiam. The white coffee is really really good lar, dunno why it was so different from the one i use to have in old town kopitiam, the franchise one. The taste of coffee is so strong...i dunno how to describe but it is ichiban lar :)
Then we went down further to Ayer Tawar where YW's home
town is for the famous red wine chicken noodles (红酒面线鸡)。

The taste is very special, something i haven't try before. It doesn't have any alcohol taste, but a bit sweet. Another favourite dish of mine is the fish maw cooked in the spicy and sour style, taste very good too :) (Thanks YW and KC for the good lunch!)
After all the good food, we headed to lumut for a walk,

taking some photo and do some shopping for the local products to bring back home. It was quite a long journey and tiring drive but I guess it was worth for all the good food and good memory :)
