My best friend just married, but the bridegroom is not me..

Haha...dont feel shocked by the title, i was just trying to tease an old friend.
Yesterday me and JJ attended LP's wedding dinner. His good friend didnt show up as he has another wedding to attend...kononnya his sister's daughter is getting married. Anyway, since I know him when i just join agilent 8 years ago, he has been trying to find a girlfriend but seems like until now he is still a bachelor. So i guess he might have tought why "my best friend has married and the bridegroom is not me", hahaha...jsut joking... :)
Anyway, the wedding dinner was unique with the performance of ballet dancing and belly dancing who are the bride's frens and colleague.
Congratulation LP, finally you had gotten married after so many years pat tor with Kah Yee :)

So touching!

I believe most of us like to complain especially about work. When I was just about to start complaining about a "strange" management decision which force me to do some thing that i thought it is not make sense at all, KC sent me this youtube video of Nick Vujicic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu9FPb-TZuk

After seeing this video, i told myself "There is really nothing i should be complaining about...rather, I should feel grateful" :)

Hurray...my team won the competition

My team had won the Agilent ping pong closed tournament, good job team!
Even though i barely contribute because I lost most of the game, but i truely appreaicate my team member's encouragement and support.
Playing ping pong needs so much focus and concentration, i felt really tired after playing each game. Once you lost the focus, you tends to make mistake cause you are not alert.
Everytime i play in a tournament, be it ping pong or badminton, i always feel so stress becasue normally the team rely on the ladies player to get an easy point :)
But for this case today, most of the ladies are so "keng chau", i think some of them can even win those guys, good job ladies!

Time fly....

Recently I always feel that times is not enough. Day by day passed so fast especially when I am busy with work. Sometimes i just dont feel much accomplishment in a day or even in a week's time. During weekend I felt the same too...never got enough time to enjoy weekend activities. Worst some weekend me and my husband felt so rush...rushing to attend friends wedding, rushing to cleaning house, rushing to go back both parent's house :)
Anyway, life is short, so try to spend more time with your family, friends and your love one :)

My first time to watch dance competition

Our company offer us a buy 1 free 1 promotion tickets to watch the 15th penang open dance competition at PIZA. So we bought the tickets and went to see the show last night. The competition suppose to start at 6.30pm but it got delayed until 7pm something. Due to that the show finished at around 12.30am only. Worst still the bridge was jam as there was some work in progress and they close the left lane :(...ends up we reached home around 1.30am only...shut...
Anyhow, the show is good even though it is a bit too long and the seat is not so comfortable, but i enjoyed the latin dance very much! The Waltz is nice and beautiful but after a while i think it is a bit boring...haha...
There were not many people attending the show, maybe it is due to poor publicity or maybe Penang poeple doesnt appreciate the art of dance. Anyway, i do hope that this doesn't discourage the organizer to continue organizing such a good event in Penang....

What's next

Recently there is an email circulate around about the news of some companies reaction to the economy downturn (mainly in penang). Some retrench people, some force leave, some plant shutdown, some certain site closed down, some no increment for 2008 review.... so on and so forth.
So I'm wondering what's next for my company. We have one unprofitable division has been dissolved and 3 BU under it will have to split under multiple different division. Well, luckily no WFM, the business is still going on, just that they want to restructure for better profit margin which i think it makes a lot of sense.
Not only that, today my division announce to exit from one business that is not profitable. Again, it was fortunate that no WFM. If we look from the business point of view, it was a right move. During this economy down turn, we should focus on core and profitable business rather than trying to help saving those loosing money business. We really dont have the luxury to do so. Having said that, i guess it wasn't an easy feeling for those employees who work in that business unit to receive that decision as well as me. I hope they will get over it soon.

I would expect more bad news reveal in the near future being it from Agilent or other companies. Just be prepared...

My cute little nephew and niece

I have total of 5 nephews and 5 nieces from my sisters and brother. All of them are very pretty and handsome but there is this 2 little cutties who really captured my heart.
One is my bigger sisiter's son, Jackson and they other is my second sister's daugther, Yue Xin.
The way they talk and act is really unpredictable and always make me laugh none stop especially Yue Xin. When i ask her who is the prettiest? I expect her to say "me" but instead, she answer "you", haha...melt my heart nia :)

See their photo below:
Little Jackson: Am I cute? --------------------- Little Yue Xin: Am I pretty?

What we should or shouln't eat

Recently me and my husband were actively searching for the right diet for us. My father in-law told us that for type O people, they needs meet...this has triggered my husband curiosity to find out more and it lead him to the website below :
http://www.drlam.com/blood_type_diet/

I am type A and my husband is type O. Type A person needs more vegetables, seafood and less red meat. Unlike type O people, they need more protein such as red meat but try to avoid grains, beans and nut.
I am a steak lover, so is really sad to discover this. According to the info on that website, type A people can digest a small portion of red meat only and it will cause slow down in metabolism if over eating. No wonder i cant control my weight even though i eat so less only. One more surprised finding is that i shouldn't be eating papaya but in fact i ate it everyday :(
It is also interesting to know that coffee is okay for type A people, this is the good new for me, but i don't intend to drink it everyday as well.
The rules of thumb is - Try to eat a balance diet and dont be too choosy on particular food ~ by doctor Goh :)

YEAH...Highest profit sharing ever...

After so many bad news due to the economy crisis...finally, here come the good new.
We get 15.8% profit sharing this 2nd half of 2008. This mean we can get approximate 102.7% of our monthly salary, the highest ever since Agilent start up at year 1999.
Next year, we are moving to the 10th year of our journey and thing is not going to be easy with the current economy situation. Anyway, i am still very happy with the result...Bravo!

Traditional performance at QB

I went to Queensbay mall shopping with frens last Friday. To our surprise, there is this chinese traditional "mini-theatre" performance at one of the empty space near to the centre atrium. I seen this performance before in Suzhou china but was surprised to see it here in QB mall, haha...But i never really pay to see the show before even i have the urge to find out how it looks like. I would expect nothing much impressive and worth the money to see. Guess that is the reason why until now I still havent try it though i am a super curious peron. Maybe it is good not to try it out so that it will always looks mysteries to me! :)

Too friendly sometime is disgusting

Just now I went to Petronas to fuel up my car. Normally there will be a person come to wipe your front screen and then they will just leave. But this time is a bit strange. That Malay guy keeps talking to me. Not only take, as he saw me can insert the credit card into the machine slot, he try to "help" by taking over my card. It suppose to be a good intention but not sure he is accidentally or purposely touched my breast lar....Geram niah... :(
Then, after that, he start to be "friendly" and asking me question like..kakak baru balik kerja ker?"..kakak sudah kahwin ker? kakak ada berapa anak? ... What the heck he ask this type of questions? If this is the way his manager ask him to be friendly to customers, i think his manager is definitely making a big mistake. If it is not, then i really don't know what is his intention, trying to be friendly? Oh, my goodness, i hate this type of friendliness and i do not hope it happen again...so disgusting :(

Strange symptom

Recently i went to toilet very often, as often as once every 2 hours. I did went to see doctor but you know lar, those clinic doctor basically cant do much. He just check my urine sample and told me there is no bacteria infection. It's sometimes very irritating as i have to walk to toilet so often in a days a the office. Furthermore, i was worried if there this can signal any underlying health problem....
Well, thanks to internet, i did some research and found below article :
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/70782.php

Seems like there are many reasons that could possibly lead to this frequent urination problem. The cause that make me worry the most is the diabetes as my mum is a diabetes patient and it can be inherited. :(

Anyway, lets think positively and i will go to have a quick check on my blood sugar level tomorrow :)

Home Alone

I am the type of person that doesn't like to stay at home especially if I am alone, unless i got things to do like cleaning house....Sometimes i just too lazy to read, but watching TV alone at home is still okay. Not like a friend of mine, always read and can finish a 100 pages book in one week's time :) I used to read a lot..but mostly motivation books or love story books, not much on the informative book like stocks, property or other :( but i do read news almost everyday to be alert on what is happening around us.
Rather, I like outdoor activities...thing like hiking, jungle tracking, go to the beach, shopping and bowling are my favourite.
Most of the people would think it is so wonderful to rest at home during weekend, but for me, i felt it was a torture if I were to stay at home doing nothing but just sleeping, hehe...

Blood replacement

I brought my dad to have follow up checking and at the same time i plan to replace blood for my dad's usage during his operation. So me and JJ went to the lab and fill up the form. After that we have to go through a simple checking. I tot i am sure to qualify as i donate blood before many years ago :)....but to my surprise, the lab assistant say that i am not qualify before my hemoglobin is just enough for myself and no extra for donation :(.. my scale is only 11 and to be qualified, need to be in the range of 13-17...too bad.
Next is JJ's turn, haha..the result also show that he is not qualified but the lab assistant was not convince by the result as he say normally guys should have enough blood to donate (especially for him, so big size...hehe..this is what i think lar, not mention by lab assistant :))
SO the lab assistant take another blood sample from his arm (the first time is from the finger) and luckily this time, he is slidely more than 13 - Qualify!
According to the lab assistant, we need 3 things to built hemoglobin - Iron, B12 and Folic. Iron is the most important part and it can be found in meat and cockles.
Another thing we have learnt from the lab assistant is that for those whose family have high blood pressure history, better donate blood often as it can helps regulate blood circulation and hence reduce the risk to get high blood pressure.
It is a good learning for me and JJ :)

Squeezing my brain...part 2

Haha, i tot i got no luck in coming out with the good idea for my program already, but last minute when i driving back home, ideas suddenly flow like the current in the sea to my mind...YES!

What a luck! :)

Squeezing my brain...

This few days i was really cracking my head to think about a good strategy and tactic for my marketing program. However, i had failed to come out with any inovative one :(
Sometimes good idea can just flow into my mind when i suddenly wake up from my sleep around 4 or 5am in the morning, or when i sit on the toilet bowl doing my big business, haha, cant believe it? Trust me, it's true :)
I was amazed by myself when this things happen to me and I'm so glad that i was given this special ability, really appreciate it!
Anyhow, this time I have no luck as it doesnt work the usual way. :)

What is Folic Acid

For those ladies friends or even guys, you must know what is folic acid.
I also knew about this 3 or 4 years back when my ex-manager told me about this. Recently when i told a few ladies friends who plan to have baby in near future about this folic acid, they seems to have no idea what is this.
Folic acid is a supplement that is necessary for the production and maintenance of new cells. This is especially important during periods of rapid cell division and growth such as infancy and pregnancy. In layman term, it is very impoartant for baby's brain grow. Some expert even advise that it is good to take this supplement 3-6 months prior to conceive.
Folic acid pill is available at pharmarcy or clinic and normally we only need 1 tablet per day.
So ladies, prepare yourself when you have got family plan :)

My new record

Today is my lucky day as i had created my new bowling record. Even though 176 wasn't my top scored (i think i hit 180 before) but I was thrilled with the results. Out of the 10 games, I only missed 1 games. I obtained 3 strikes, 7 spares and only 1 missed. Haha...really excited about it. But the challenge is always how to be consitent in the performance. Actually i played total of 3 sets and my score for the first 2 sets was not good, only 115 and 125.

Anyway, i got to set higher goal now, to achieve 200 points.... :)

Gathering..

Next time maybe we can do some outdoor activities....hiking, picnic or ????
P/S: Thank you Fai Fai and KS for the treat!

Still about fuel...

See the photo below, i captured it at mobile/Esso station. They tied up the Ron92 pump, that has the cheaper price, not allowing people to pump with it...Like that also can wor...all the petrol counter also the same, celaka punya owner...This station is at the roadside of Seberang Jaya motorway.

Finally..Dad has discharged

Around 10.30am, mum called up and told me that doctor has allowed to let dad discharged. Good news, so i rushed to hospital immediately as I was hoping that i can settle his bill and bring him back home by 12noon so that i can still have time to attend Jessie's registration at penang moral uplifting center. Mana tau, the nurse say not so soon, need to wait until 1pm maybe can settle...celaka...want to pay also need to wait so long, what the h@#$... What to do, have to wait lor..too bad I cant make it to Jessie's ROM, so sorry ya :)
About 12.30pm, my brother reached hostpital, so we decided to go parallel. Me and JJ will bring father back first while he will stay at hospital waiting to pay the bill.
It is quite difficult to get my dad into the car as his leg cannot bent. We spent a few minutes and finally we had successfully get him in and reached home safely. See his giant leg rap with some supportive material...dont worry, dad, you will get well real soon :)
